Workshop: Mix Voice!
Sunday, May 16, 2021, live on Zoom
3:30-5:00pm EST (East coast US and Canada)
Includes a recording of the workshop
"Mix voice" is a term used to describe a vocal register that we use throughout contemporary singing styles. But it's super confusing. What IS it? How does it work? How do you find it and use it in your voice? Why is it important for your singing?
In this second workshop on Mix Voice you'll have the opportunity to bring a selection of a song or exercise that you're working on, and receive direct feedback from Jeannie, live in the class!
(If you missed Part One that's okay, there's plenty to learn in this class!)
Ask your questions throughout the workshop to truly understand how using your Mix Voice register can help you become a better singer. This workshop will help you to:
- learn how mix voice can be used in place of head tone/falsetto, or full voice /chest voice for belting
- hear the quality that mix voice brings to styles
- practice exercises to find mix voice in your passaggio (area of transition in between registers)
- sing exercises to work on in your regular practice routine
- bring in your own song or exercise to work on
PDFs of the exercises we use in the workshop are available once you register.Workshop: Mix Voice!

Workshop! Sing Like a Star!
This workshop will be offered again soon.
Join vocal expert and Berklee professor Jeannie Gagné live and in person for her next interactive online workshop on Zoom
In this workshop you'll learn what that "secret sauce" is that makes someone's singing really special. What makes a star? What are the qualities of someone's voice that make you love it? How can you bring out the very best in your own voice and sing like a star, too!
To answer these questions, we will work on style, vocal qualities, range, song interpretation, performing tips, technique, and more. This workshop will help you to:
- explore your vocal qualities
- explore song styles and lyrical interpretation
- find the vocal range that best suits your voice and musical style
- work on movement and expression while performing
- look at celebrated singers and find out what really stands out about them
Depending on class size, some attendees will be able to sing a song live in the workshop. Because the class is remote, singers who perform will need their own backing track or can self-accompany. Jeannie's workshops always include exercises, Q&A, demonstrations, and a whole lot more!
Here are some past Workshops—We'll be repeating these, so come back soon for new dates!
