Dear Concert-Goers,
I am undertaking a survey to collect your feedback about performance intention, which is a very important component of my current vision and work. I am querying both performing musicians and non-musicians members about their audience experiences at concerts. The questions are below in an online form. Your answers will go to a secure location that only my webmaster and I can see.
This is a qualitative study, which means I am gathering detailed responses, rather than collecting a large amount of data. Therefore, each of your responses in as much detail as you would like to share will be a valuable part of the work.
What is especially significant for this survey is how live music moves you, whether positively or negatively. The results will be used in part to create a performance model that focuses on the interaction between musical performer and the audience, and will also be included in my forthcoming book on performing with clear intention.
Please take a few minutes and share your thoughts below. As much as you would like to write is very much appreciated. Your comments will be read carefully and taken into consideration toward a greater understanding of how to create exceptional concerts. I am also including your general responses in my classroom teaching at Berklee College of Music. Please let me know if I may (anonymously) reprint or quote your comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to complete this important survey!
In gratitude, Jeannie Gagné
